One day, mama got a lot of fruit.
Iun tagon panjo aĉetis multe da fruktoj.
“When can we have some fruit?” we ask.
“We will have the fruit tonight,” says mama.
“Kiam ni povas manĝi la fruktojn?” ni demandas. “Ni manĝos la fruktojn ĉi-vespere,” diras panjo.
My brother Rahim is greedy. He tastes all the fruit. He eats a lot of it.
Mia frato Rahim estas avida. Li gustumas ĉiujn fruktojn. Li manĝas multe da fruktoj.
“Look at what Rahim did!” shouts my little brother.
“Rahim is naughty and selfish,” I say.
“Rigardu, kion faris Rahim!” mia frateto ekkriis. “Rahim petolemas kaj egoistas,” diras mi.
Mother is angry with Rahim.
Panjo koleras kontraŭ Rahim.
We are also angry with Rahim. But Rahim is not sorry.
Ni ankaŭ koleras kontraŭ Rahim. Sed Rahim ne bedaŭras.
“Aren’t you going to punish Rahim?” asks little brother.
“Ĉu vi ne punos Rahim?” demandas mia frateto.
“Rahim, soon you will be sorry,” warns mama.
“Rahim, vi baldaŭ bedaŭros,” avertas panjo.
Rahim starts to feel sick.
Rahim eksentas sin malbona.
“My tummy is so sore,” whispers Rahim.
“Mia ventro doloras,” flustras Rahim.
Mama knew this would happen. The fruit is punishing Rahim!
Panjo sciis ke tio okazos. La fruktoj punas Rahim!
Later, Rahim says sorry to us. “I will never be so greedy again,” he promises.
And we all believe him.
Poste Rahim petas pardonon al ni. “Mi neniam plu tiel avidos,” li promesas. Kaj ni ĉiuj kredas lin.
